Come join the Ingram Content Group team as we host Nashville Girl Geek Dinner on Wednesday, July 26th at the Nashville Technology Council for an evening of networking, career tech insights, and fun. We've put together an interactive night of roundtable discussions with topics spanning career development, mentorship, communication and more. You are invited to interact, share and challenge each other on work culture and tech speak. We’ve put together an interesting mix of technical and more business people who routinely come together under the Ingram umbrella to provide the best business and service solutions to our end users and customers. Leadership from Ingram Content Group’s IT and Product development teams will be leading the roundtables to guide the discussions about what these roles look like and how to succeed or grow yourself in your career. We are very excited to be working with them to secure donations they can use for the incredible women they serve. Below, you will find an outline of the clothing we are accepting. So, get to raiding your closets for a great cause! Ingram Content Group's Table Leaders and Moderator: Moderator: Shruti Sharma, Software Engineer Intermediate Shruti is a business intelligence software engineer at Ingram Content Group. She is responsible for creating software tools that distill data into information that help internal and external users make informed decisions for their businesses. In 2014, Shruti joined the Nashville Software School where she gained proficiency in JavaScript, Node, Angular and Mobile app development. This paved the way for her to change her career path and join Ingram. A native of India, Shruti moved to Germany for her Doctoral studies at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry in Munich. She also received her post-doctorate from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. A Nashvillian since 2008, Shruti is a mom to two spirited children. She is interested in all things data, analytics, and food. Shruti also enjoys creative writing in her free time. Table Topics Navigating your career as a Developer Zoe Ames, Software Engineer Intermediate Zoe Ames moved to Nashville in 2014 and attended the Nashville Software School. Since joining Ingram in October, Zoe has contributed her knowledge of AngularJS and expanded development toolkit learning Ruby on Rails and is a valuable member of the Business Intelligence Team. Outside of work, Zoe is the Lead Front-End Instructor for the evening bootcamp at Nashville Software School where she mentors and leads the next generation of Nashville developers. When not writing code, Zoe enjoys traveling, pretentious coffee, and feline companionship. Zoe received a double major in Astronomy and Physics from Smith College and a Masters degree in Physics from San Francisco State University. Kelley Stephens, Software Engineer Intermediate Kelley Stephens is one of the few native Nashvillians, born and raised in Music City. She attended Middle Tennessee State University where she graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing and a Bachelors of Arts in Spanish. After working many years in marketing/operational type positions, Kelley embarked on a new challenge, to become a software engineer. After six intensive months learning JavaScript and Ruby on Rails, she graduated from the Nashville Software School and joined Ingram Content Group as the first Ruby on Rails Software Engineer on the Business Intelligence team. Within her three short years on the team, Kelley has become one of the lead contributors. Outside of work, Kelley loves the great indoors, spending quality time with her family and snuggling up with her ragdoll cat. Mentor-Mentee: Getting the best out of the relationship Joanne Hogan, VP of Sales Operations As Vice President of Sales Operations, Joanne provides leadership direction to manage and facilitate strategic projects and processes for Ingram’s Commercial Group, including Library, Retail, Higher Education, and Tennessee Book. Joanne, who joined Ingram in 2002, is a strategic leader, and she’s a problem solver with an innate ability to readily see and break the complex down, and communicate via analogies and visual thinking tools. As a natural collaborator at heart, she readily builds trusting relationships across partners, both internally and externally at all levels. Joanne received her Bachelor of Applied Arts from Central Michigan University. She is interested in genealogy and photography, and she enjoys traveling and sports. Nicole Hamilton-Robinson, Manager, Merchandising Nicole Hamilton-Robinson has spent her entire professional career at Ingram Content Group. She’s worked in all different kinds of positions as a Product Coordinator, Buyer, Content Manager to Process Improvement Manager. Currently, as the Manager of Merchandising, she develops Ingram’s metadata products and supporting systems infrastructure to connect and use data to expand the business’ offerings. In addition to her work at Ingram Content, Nicole received her certification in ESL in 2015 and began teaching intermediate and adults students in her evenings. Nicole is an active member of her community, participating in organizations like the Women's National Book Association, WomenGetIT, Junior Achievement, and serves on the board of Franktown Open Hearts. When Nicole has some downtime, you will find her traveling, reading or roaming the countryside. Nicole received her B.A. in French Language and Literature from Austin Peay State University. Decoding the tech buzz word in the enterprise ecosystem Jason Plummer, Systems Engineer Sr. Prior to joining Ingram in 2014, Jason worked at the Johnson Space Center for NASA in Engineering Robotics and in the Public Safety Two Way Radio Arena for Motorola where he was challenged to design solutions that solved highly complex problems. Today, Jason enjoys working with technologies that improve the quality of Ingram’s software development efforts through continuous integration and deployment. Jason received his B.S. Biomedical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University and his M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He loves playing around in Linux, playing paintball and enjoying Cajun food. Orlando Caro, Manager Application Development Orlando Caro oversees CoreSource, Ingram’s digital management and distribution platform that serves publishers and retailers to ensure that e-books are available to as wide of a market as possible. Prior to joining Ingram Content Group, Orlando spent fifteen years working with customers and in enterprise architecture roles. His hands-on experience includes software development, integration of distributed systems, and database and system administration. Orlando brings broad knowledge and experience in various computer science disciplines and industries - logistics, financial, health insurance, and transportation, and military. He received his computer science education from the University of Puerto Rico. He enjoys music, food, travel, learning about technology. Engineers and Product Owners: Refining your Tech-Speak Lynn McClurg, Software Engineer Lynn McClurg has had one foot in the end user world and one foot in the IT world for the past 11 years working with Ingram Content group. She provides analysis services to Ingram customers as well as works closely with the various Applications Development groups to fight bugs, request updates, and celebrate new development. Lynn recently joined the Business Intelligence Team as a junior developer and is currently enrolled in the Web Development Jumpstart course at the Nashville Software School. When not working or learning new skills, Lynn enjoys playing video games. Amy Cox-Williams, Director of Content Management & Merchandising Amy Cox Williams started her publishing career in New York in the editorial departments at Avon Books and HarperCollins where she worked with children’s authors (and answered Beverly Cleary’s fan mail!). At Ingram Content Group, Amy served in Marketing for 12 years, as the Communications & PR Director and the Product Marketing Director. Currently, Ann is the Director of Content Management & Merchandising responsible for growing Ingram’s wholesale businesses through the acquisition and management of physical and digital products. Amy received her B.A. in English from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (Go Vols!) and attended New York University's Summer Publishing Institute for an intensive course in book and magazine publishing. In her spare time, Amy enjoys reading, running, traveling, spending time with her husband and 5-year-old daughter and their crazy Weimaraner. This event is brought to you by Ingram Content Group.
