Position Summary:
As the first engineer primarily focused on DevOps work at EvidenceCare, you would be supporting a team of 6-7 application developers in designing and deploying cloud-based systems. The existing team has built out a Kubernetes-based ecosystem on AWS and is now hoping to welcome a new teammate to help solidify best practices and accelerate our DevOps-related work.

In 2021, the primary focus for this role will be two-fold: (a) enhancing developer productivity by increasing ergonomics across the stack, and (b) improving the resiliency of our ecosystem through improved CI/CD processes and active monitoring & alerting.

Our culture depends on self-directed, proactive individuals, and everyone on the team is expected to guide the architectural direction of their ownership areas. We would look to this person to serve as a SME in the key technologies listed below. This role is only appropriate for someone confident leading the company direction in at least 6 / 8 of those items.

In 2021, the primary goal for the engineering team is to excel in the areas of autonomy, delivery, communication, work-life balance. To achieve that at our size, we focus on incrementalism and maintainability. Transparently, that means that in the near-term we will have limited opportunities for mentorship / junior engineers or new bleeding edge technologies. As we continue to grow as a team and hit our strides, we hope for that to change.
