Summary
The GNTC is seeking a driven and relationship-oriented individual to lead business development efforts which are central to the organization's sustainability and growth. This role’s primary functions provide funding to sustain the Council's programs and events. The VP of Strategic Partnership is a high-impact, revenue-generating role ideal for a proven business development professional who is energized by building relationships, opening doors, and closing deals within the regional technology community. This role reports to the CEO, and is a full-time position working out of the Nashville office.
Key Responsibilities
- Growing the Council’s top-line revenue by establishing new and retaining existing corporate memberships while also securing high-value corporate sponsorships.
- Develop an effective lead generation strategy to pursue qualified GNTC membership and sponsorship opportunities across the Middle Tennessee region.
- Manage a pipeline of prospective member and sponsor organizations, tracking outreach and conversion with a robust CRM platform.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with technology companies, startups, corporate partners, and community stakeholders.
- Promote the GNTC Value Proposition to prospect members and benefactors across Middle Tennessee.
- Manage a $1M+ budget.
- Collaborate with the executive team on strategic growth initiatives and revenue targets.
- Compile and present quarterly reports to the GNTC Board of Directors.
- Maintain accurate records of business development activity and report progress against goals.
- Develop and execute sponsorship strategies for Council programs, signature events, and initiatives.
- Create compelling proposals and packages tailored to prospective partners’ and sponsors’ needs and goals.
- Represent the Council at industry events, networking functions, and community gatherings to expand visibility and generate leads.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven leadership in managing alliances and partnerships, (experience in tech industry and/or non-profit sector is preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms.
- Ability to interpret and effectively use business data.

- Demonstrated success in business development, sales, or partnership/sponsorship acquisition.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Track record of establishing relationships and credibility within the regional community strongly preferred.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage a full sales cycle independently.
- Comfortable planning and reporting on revenue and membership growth targets.
- Passion for region's technology ecosystem and community-driven organizations.
